What Counts as a Business Day?

A business day (also called a working day) is any day that is not a Saturday, Sunday, or public holiday. In most countries, business days are Monday through Friday. Banks, government offices, and most businesses operate on business days.

When a contract or deadline refers to "business days," it typically means only weekdays are counted. For example, "5 business days" from a Monday means the following Monday (skipping Saturday and Sunday). If holidays fall within the period, they are also excluded.
